Sketchbook Sundays

Here are some doodles and drawings from my recent sketchbook.

I tend to have a love/hate thing with sketchbooks and put way too much pressure on myself to make them look 'perfect'. But I'm learning to loosen up and I'm actually enjoying the process again!

You can follow me on instagram (@beckydownillustration) for more insights into my sketchbook, as that's where I post more frequently!

I'm Starting School wipe clean books

Exciting news! I can finally share with you the covers of a series of books I worked on with the lovely people at Pat-a-Cake! They're activity books which are wipe clean, so you can use them again and again!

They'll be available to buy from the 6th April 2017 but you can pre-order on Amazon.

I had so much fun working on these illustrations. They're also some of the first to be published by Pat-a-Cake, a brand new imprint of Hachette launching in March 2017. (No pressure!)

A Productive Day

You know when you have a really productive day and you feel GREAT about it. This is how I'm feeling right now. Work's done, post office trip complete, housework finished, 2 loads of laundry washed and now I have a spare 5 minutes to quickly upload this warm up bear doodle from last week.

Happy Saturday!

Digging The Knitwear Out

Is anyone else really happy now it's getting colder so they can wear wooly jumpers again?

Something A Bit Different...

I had these happy folk floating around in my sketchbook and decided to make use of them :)

It's nice to work in a different style every now and then, working with line and having a bit of fun with colour!

Autumn is well and truly creeping in, which means I can dig out my knitwear collection and jump in big piles of leaves again (yes I am 26 years old). I've been drawing lots of autumn themed things in my sketchbook which I'll be sure to share on here in the next few days :)

Summer Days

Here's a personal piece of work that I created in between projects.

Who wouldn't love to be snoozing on a hammock in the forest!
